UW Medical Centers Clinical Engineering has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Engineering Program Operations Manager .

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full-Time - 100% FTE

  • Monday - Friday

  • Onsite required for this role POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • This position reports to the Director of Clinical Engineering and is responsible for the daily operations of the department in support of more than20,000 items of medical equipment

  • Responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the medical equipment scheduled maintenance program required and audited by federal, state, and localauthorities under the general direction of the department director. Failure to comply with these regulations has severe implications to patient safety andfinancial reimbursement for the hospital

  • Work with both Montlake and Northwest locations DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Clinical Engineering Program Operations Manager manages and supervises assigned technical personnel and coordinates the operation of the Clinical Engineering department which is responsible for the maintenance and repair of general and specialized medical equipment. They are responsible for drafting the annual operational budget request excluding that for service contracts, for all operational aspects of the medical equipment scheduled maintenance program and providing direct maintenance support of Medical Equipment and related systems including project planning, project management, technician training, and user training.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the daily implementation of the medical equipment preventive maintenance program

  • Manage multiple medical equipment related replacement, upgrade, installation, or repair projects

  • Supervise highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technicians from entry level BMET 1 through BMET Supervisor

  • Manage multiple departmental processes to ensure compliance to federal, state, and local policy and procedures as well as developing the operational budget REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • College Diploma/Certificate in Biomedical Equipment and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Health Administration, Business Administration or related fields

  • Minimum of 10 years of active experience working in the BMET field in a hospital setting
