UW Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team. This position will support the outpatient ambulatory clinic staff at our Montlake and Northwest medical center campuses.
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday
Daytime hours PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans, develops, organizes, teaches, and evaluates staff education. This may include orientations, in-services, residencies, BLS/ACLS renewals, and continuing education programs
Conducts specific classes and competency verifications
Works with staff to identify opportunities for professional growth and implements educational strategies to support staff in transition
Acts as an education resource to support quality patient care
Collaborates with community agencies outside the medical center regarding professional nursing practice
Promotes and supports a high functioning environment that fosters continuing learning and professional development
Participates in clinical and organizational policy and procedure development
Supports systems and processes to promote evidence-based practice
Supports systems and processes to promote clinical education for students in nursing and allied health care programs
Supports systems and processes to promote equity, diversity and inclusion
Participates in the development of quality assessment and improvement programs REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred
Active licensure to practice as a RN in Washington State
BLS
4 years of RN work experience in a hospital or outpatient clinic
2 years of experience in education/teaching, including experience developing, implementing, presenting, and evaluating education programs
Strong working knowledge of adult teaching and learning principles
