Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 4 to serve as the Complete Streets Planning Engineer in Seattle, WA. The objective of this position is to facilitate the planning, engineering, and implementation of WSDOT's Complete Streets program consistent with the agency's vision for a safe, sustainable, and integrated multimodal transportation system. This vision aligns with FHWA's direction to plan, develop and operate equitable streets and networks that prioritize safety, comfort, and connectivity to destinations for all people who use the street network. This position serves as the region's Technical Program Specialist in planning and pre-design engineering for projects subject to complete street requirements and planning studies. Under the direction of the Corridor Planning Manager, the NWR King Area Traffic/Snohomish & Mt Baker Area Traffic Engineer, and NWR Project Engineers, the Complete Streets Planning Engineer leads and/or supports project planning and pre-design efforts including alternatives development, evaluation, and selection, internal and external coordination, and preparation of deliverables. The Complete Streets Planning Engineer supports WSDOT's diversity, equity, and inclusion plan implementation through developing studies and complete streets pre-designs with inclusive community engagement
