POSITION PURPOSE Serve as a team member, performing custodial tasks to maintain cleanliness and care of facilities. Provide customer service for residential students and conferees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Cleaning and sanitizing kitchens, dining rooms and offices in accordance with established procedures and standards.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, shower rooms and fixtures in accordance with established procedures and standards; refill restroom dispenser.
Sweeping, moping and vacuuming floors; emptying wastebaskets, trash and recycle containers; replacing light bulbs.
Dusting and cleaning walls, doors, windows, woodwork, furniture, etc.
Stripping, cleaning, buffing and applying finish to floors; using high-speed floor buffers/polishers; vacuuming and cleaning carpets.
Using and maintaining assigned power equipment and hand tools such as a vacuum, broom, mop, squeegee, or ladder for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets and furniture.
Vacuuming furniture, drapery and walls.
Securing building when facilities are not in use by checking for unlocked doors and windows; reporting unauthorized occupants.
Set up and take down equipment such as chalkboards and easels and furnishings such as folding chairs and tables needed for meetings, conferences and events.
Follow written and/or verbal instructions regarding the use of chemicals, supplies and equipment; comply with safety policies and procedures.
Report need for repairs and maintenance.
May operate high-pressure washer.
Perform cleaning and related duties in areas within a reasonable distance from buildings using hand-operated tools or small power equipment to remove snow or debris, or to sweep sidewalks or stairs.
Drive University vehicles to deliver items and commute to various HFS locations in or around campus.
Perform related duties as required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Physical ability to do required work. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work nights.
Ability to understand and produce written and verbal instructions in English.
Ability to effectively interact and communicate in a variety of situations.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Successful as a Custodian or housekeeper.
An eye for detail.
Dedication to a high level of customer satisfaction.
Possession of a valid State of Washington Driver’s License. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
