As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for leadership of the Engineering Organization within New Shepard Operations and Maintenance. These teams are responsible for performing electrical, fluids, structural, mechanical, and sustaining engineering for the fielded vehicle fleet of New Shepard human spaceflight vehicles. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to innovative solutions while demonstrating leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail across a variety of engineering disciplines. Your experience should demonstrate your technical excellence and provide the basis for the creation of a peerless engineering organization. This position will directly impact the history of human space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable human spaceflight. You will be the functional engineering leader of New Shepard Operations & Maintenance, reporting directly to the VP of the New Shepard Mission & Flight Operations. Responsibilities: Functional management of team consisting of a broad range of engineering disciplines including electrical, fluids, propulsion, ordnance, software, structural, mechanical, sustaining and spaceflight operations support engineers. Establish an outstanding functional matrix organization that supports Flight Operations, Maintenance and Sustainment of the New Shepard fleet Recruit, mentor and develop top engineering talent and leadership Responsible for implementing design and engineering standards used by the operations and sustainment team Responsible for training and certification of engineering staff for their roles Develop critical skill matrices and perform multi-year workforce planning Work with the engineering organizations across Blue Origin to continually improve New Shepard engineering tools and processes, and to support the growth of Blue Origin engineering capabilities. Qualifications: B.S. in engineering field 15+ years of experience in aerospace development (launch vehicles or aircraft) Direct personnel management experience of a multi-disciplinary engineering team of at least 25 people Demonstrated ability to manage teams on large and complex technical projects, including managing within budget constraints and schedule deadlines Excellent systems engineering and configuration management skills over the entire lifecycle of an aerospace product from concept development through certification and into operations and production Compensation Range for: WA applicants is $198,908.25-$278,471.55 Other site ranges may differ Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
