Looking for opportunities to influence our business at scale across 10,000+ stores? This job contributes to Starbucks success by leading the planning, execution and delivery of major, business unit wide project initiatives impacting cross functional teams. Collaborates to define relevant business requirements and solutions and gain alignment of key cross-functional stakeholders. Consults with business and functional areas to ensure consistent methodologies and approaches are leveraged. Leads program deployment including rhythm of the business activities, team leadership, business readiness, change management, learning, and communications. Accountable for successful implementation and end-user adoption. Develops and manages budgets, work plans, staffing plans, and recognition and retention initiatives in support of program goals. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

As a director, strategy and business operations, Store Development, you will…

  • Influence broadly up, down, and across the enterprise to mobilize partners to support critical deliverables in balance with their day-to-day priorities

  • Function effectively in a highly ambiguous environment with the flexibility to change course as required to respond to new situations

  • Lead a project management function which participates in cross-enterprise initiatives, spanning multiple business units and functions; integrates smoothly with established project management within functional areas

  • Lead development of business strategy and consulting throughout the company to identify opportunities and optimize performance, influencing program prioritization and planning, and managing processes and practices to align programs with business goals and objectives

  • Lead a high performing team, providing partners with coaching, feedback and developmental opportunities and building effective teams to deliver on

  • Provide guidance Lead planning and execution of strategic leadership experiences, forums and communication channels, including content approach for the Store Development Resource Center

  • Lead and influence across functions, regions and departments. Work closely with functional, regional and program leadership to align the organization for successful deployment of large-scale initiatives, including leadership of enterprise Operational Planning and rhythm of business planning for Store Development

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience

  • Advanced experience with core technology tools like Microsoft office, & virtual collaboration tools

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in specific field or utilizing designated skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in business process design and leading multiple large program or project implementations within a large, global company

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with budgeting, planning and managing projects and programs

  • Minimum of 5 years of business system and process development

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising diverse work groups (if applicable for direct reports)

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working across organizational boundaries at all levels, including executive positions

  • Experience managing large teams both reporting direct or indirect

  • Graduate degree, Masters, JD, MBA or equivalent consulting experience preferred

  • Executive level communication with a strategic lens skilled in project/program management

  • Previous experience within store development or store operations within a large-scale organization preferred

  • Willingness to travel 10% as needed

  • Comfortable working in a hybrid model with 3 days required in office at our corporate headquarters in Seattle, WA

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
