Amazon Finance Manager, Stores Tech Finance FP&A in Seattle, Washington

Do you want to be at the intersection of Amazon Retail, AWS, and the development of eCommerce? Amazon seeks a Finance Manager to join the Stores Tech Finance team. This is an exciting and highly visible opportunity to interact with business and finance leaders across World Wide Stores with the focus on improving efficiency, standardizing forecasting and planning practices, breaking down silos, simplifying processes, automating reporting through leveraging new tools. The role will drive better controllership, provide meaningful insights, and reduce overall costs across eCF, Shopping, and Central Econ pillars. The Finance Manager will own the overall consolidation, analysis, synthesis and reporting of eCF, Shopping and Core AI’s financial performance to leadership and to Worldwide Amazon Stores. The role also includes defining metrics to run the business, creating solutions for process improvement and writing documents for VP and SVP reviews.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own the financial planning and reporting processes at Stores Tech Leadership Team (STLT) level for Shopping/eCF providing IMR MBR commentary, Month End Close & Guidance commentary.

  • Drive opportunities for improvement of Cost to Service across the organization (Shopping/eCF).

  • Partner with Fleet Finance Leads to improve, standardize, and automate the metrics, dashboards, and reporting in line with strategic initiatives driven by the Central IMR team (Tech ROI framework, Service level IMR, Weblab, Attribution models, etc.).

  • Influence business decisions with executive leaders through financial modeling, metrics, and reporting.

  • Collaborate with central finance teams (e.g., FP&A, Corporate Controller) to align on financial policies, processes, and reporting standards, ensuring consistency across the organization.

  • Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support strategic decision-making, such as evaluating new initiatives, investments, or organizational changes.

  • Provide financial training and guidance to business partners and stakeholders, fostering financial literacy and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

  • Monitor and analyze key financial metrics, performance indicators, and variances, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.

  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects related to financial systems, data management, and analytics to drive continuous improvement.

  • Lead reporting for GPU MBR for Shopping/eCF (includes improving tracking mechanisms)

A day in the life

We seek a Finance Manager with strong quantitative and financial skills, sound business judgment, the ability to solve complex problems, and effective verbal and written communication. The successful candidate will work across teams within tight deadlines, project manage the financial cycles, and consolidate financial commentaries to provide insights and tell the business story. The Finance Manager will think and act quickly under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities effectively.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
