ANCHOR QEA, LLC Mid-Level Environmental Planner in Seattle, Washington

Title: Mid-Level Environmental Planner Location: Seattle, Portland, Tacoma Job Type: Regular Full-time What's the Opportunity? To act as a key member of project teams, in developing and implementing planning and permitting strategies related to watershed and restoration planning, infrastructure siting, and redevelopment activities. You will help to complete tasks related to the development of permit applications, technical studies and reports, environmental assessments, and environmental impact statements. This role also includes opportunities for continued career advancement to interact with clients, agencies, and other consultant teams and learn development of scopes and budgets. Responsibilities Support the development and implementation of comprehensive environmental compliance strategies related to obtaining applicable local, state, and federal regulatory approvals with project manager support; execute tasks related to environmental review efforts, such as environmental impact statements required by the Washington State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) or the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); assist with preparing permit application materials and land use and development code evaluations. What Are We Looking For? Ideal candidates will have the following: Bachelor's degree 5+ years of experience in environmental planning or permitting Familiarity with development of environmental documentation related to SEPA and/or NEPA compliance Experienced in developing applications and obtaining federal, state, or local environmental permits Excellent written and verbal communication Ability to work independently and well in a team environment Able to effectively workload balance when needed Experience with the following is a plus: Knowledge of Oregon state and local permitting (e.g., Oregon Goal 5 and significant natural resource assessments, City of Portland Environmental Zone compliance, Washington critical areas ordinance) Oregon land use planning development code compliance Conducting surveys for protected plants, wildlife, and/or fish Conducting wetland delineations Conducting habitat assessments and special status habitat inventories What Can You Expect?
