UW MEDICINE’S PATIENT FINANCIAL SERVICES has an outstanding opportunity for a PATIENT ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE 2 WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE, 40 hours per week

  • Day Shift

  • 100% Remote PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Edit and/or prepare UB, CMS 1500, ADA and other utilized billing forms according to regulatory or payer requirements.

  • Analyze and take action on unresolved accounts, including payer denials.

  • Analyze financial information provided by patients to determine their ability to make payments or qualify for financial assistance.

  • Analyze credit balance accounts to determine and take appropriate action.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and departmental quality and performance standards.

  • Prepare Accounts Receivable adjustments.

  • Utilize available resources to obtain eligibility information.

  • Update patient demographic, financial and payer information in applicable systems.

  • Communicate with Medical Centers' staff, patients and/or third-party payers

  • Review the status of the entire patient account and exercise judgment to determine appropriate course of action for resolution. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High School graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in patient accounting, customer service, or a related office environmentOREquivalent education/experience.
