What does Thomson Reuters Labs do? We experiment, we build, we deliver. We support the organization and our customers through applied research in informational retrieval, natural language processing and generative AI. We work closely with product and domain experts to identify compelling solutions at the intersection of user need and technical feasibility. Our team is designing the next generation of research technology for Legal and Tax Professionals globally. We drive AI innovation for Thomson Reuters' Core Research Products, including Westlaw, Practical Law, and Checkpoint. About the Role As Principal AI Architect, you will lead a cross-functional team responsible for scaling AI application development and designing robust, highly specialized applications of generative AI for legal and tax. In this hands-on leadership role, you will: Design and direct the technology strategy for a new class of AI solutions that serve customer-facing human-in-the-loop applications. Enable editorial workflows for AI-assist and task specific model customization at scale Research and evaluate emerging technology to advance the state of LLM application development Ensure solutions align with modern best practices for cloud across platforms and environments Continuously improve ways of working with partner teams across product engineering About You PhD in a relevant discipline or Master's plus comparable experience 10+ years hands-on building AI / NLP systems for commercial applications 5+ years of management experience - coaching & developing high-performing teams Expertise in cloud platforms for large-scale AI workloads and infrastructure. Knowledge of model versioning, monitoring, and retraining practices, with experience building frameworks for maintaining model performance in production Proven ability to collaborate effectively and align AI architecture with business needs Strong desire to design innovative solutions with large language models #LI-JF1 What's in it For You?
