The Amazon Health Services (AHS) team is seeking a Principal Risk Manager who is dedicated to oversee the One Medical Compliance Program.

The Principal Risk Manager will support all aspects of the One Medical Compliance Program, interfacing between the business and the centralized compliance teams in privacy, billing, and operations. Work will include assistance with policy development, education, investigations, and monitoring. This role will be accountable to attend and present at the quarterly leadership meeting (the acting “compliance committee”) and legal coordinating meetings. This role will provide help with CAPAs and will be the lead for integration work and for contributing One Medical measures. This role will also sit with and contribute to the compliance Leadership Team.

This person will be acting as the Compliance Officer for an AHS entity. The Principal Risk Manager will work on the development of implementation strategies when necessitated by changes in regulation. This role will drive implementation of compliance control as highlighted in the Compliance Risk Assessments. This role will include a broad set of cross-functional responsibilities to ensure that all personnel are properly trained to understand responsibilities, processes are scalable, and metrics are accurately reported.

The Principal Risk Manager needs to have in-depth strategic thinking and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment across a large number of functional groups and be able to manage the business needs of Amazon Health Services and One Medical, understand the customer experience and make business oriented recommendations to ensure Compliance with key requirements. The Principal Risk Manager will lead the Compliance Team to ensure effective execution of the Program.

Key job responsibilities

• Proactively identify situations that may pose significant compliance risk and guides management in the development/reviewing

/updating of relevant policies, procedures and business practices

• Drive a compliance review and analysis of new regulatory developments and maintains oversight of developments impacting business activities

• Participate and collaborate in compliance advisory and integration projects as well as conduct compliance assessment and define requirements as needed for the approval of business projects and initiatives such as new product development and changes to existing products

• Oversee and manage regulatory reporting, including ad-hoc requests from regulators, and manage compliance with regulatory requirements

• Work closely with key functional organizations to ensure proper implementation, reporting and change management

• Collaborate and build trust with key partners to minimize compliance risks

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years in ethics/compliance in the healthcare industry

• Bachelor’s degree

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Unfaltering discretion; ability to maintain strict confidentiality

• Ability to think ‘out of the box’

• Problem solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work both independently and as a team to effect change company-wide

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, ambiguity, and discretion

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

• Demonstrated ability to anticipate and creatively solve problems

• Proven track record of influencing across a large, complex organization

• Proven ability to manage multiple timelines and quickly adjust to changes while meeting deadlines

• MA or JD

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $214,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
