Splunk, Inc. Principal Software Engineer in Seattle, Washington

Splunk, Inc. in Seattle, WA has an opening for Principal Software Engineer (J853): Design and develop software applications or systems. Design and develop comprehensive commerce solutions for Splunk's core cloud platform. Utilize the agile development models for cloud native architectures including microservices, automated CI/CD, RESTful API's, security compliance to design and develop algorithms and code Splunk Enterprise roadmap for Splunk's cloud platform. Build and maintain the cloud microservices with high quality distributed design in Golang; and work on CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) development model for cloud native deployments.  Analyze and improve performance cloud platform for scalability and reliability by applying data structures, Kubernetes, dockers and AWS/GCP cloud computing platforms. Identify and influence technical decision making for features and architecture of the cloud platform to achieve business requirements and goals.  Drive complex initiatives and projects from inception to completion with leading technical roadmap and mentoring developers on code reviews and development capabilities.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field, and 60 months of experience in software engineering- related occupation. As an alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field, and 84 months of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in software engineering-related occupation.  Special Skills: This position also requires education or experience in: 1) Building cloud microservices and distributed systems in Java and MySQL or similar programming languages; 2) Foundation in data structures, algorithms and software design for cloud scale; 3) Agile development models for cloud native architectures such as microservices, automated CI/CD, RESTful API, or security compliance at cloud scale; 4) Developing cloud services in cloud computing, orchestration, and commerce services; 5) Scaling cloud services in Dockers, AWS and GCP. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.

Salary:  $254,616 to $279,400/yr.  Compensation package includes standard company benefits.  Full time employment; multiple positions open.
