Amazon Principal Technical Program Manager, Prime Gaming in Seattle, Washington

Description

Prime Gaming is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for 1) oversight and coordination of highly complex cross-functional programs and 2) defining product development planning and tracking mechanisms. You will leverage your program management skills, technical knowledge, and business acumen to simplify and orchestrate delivery of highly impactful programs and features. You will collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to negotiate trade-offs, balance technical and customer facing needs, and deliver crisp and clear communication to ensure alignment or escalation as needed. You will leverage your deep understanding of product and tech processes to define new standards for how we plan, sequence, size, and track our work. This will help create improved visibility and inspection so that we can maximize our delivery velocity and confidence. You will also help educate and coach the broader team on best practices to scale your impact.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define detailed program plans with clear tasks, sequencing, ownership, and success criteria for large-scale, complex initiatives

  • Own oversight, coordination, launch, and success of new big bet, high priority programs

  • Ensure transparency, alignment and regular communication of strategic programs to stakeholders across business, tech, marketing, and broader partner teams

  • Be able to roll-up your sleeves to author Business Requirements Documents

  • Define, align on, and launch new end-to-end product development processes from ideation to post-launch analysis including cross-team program planning, intake, roadmap reviews, velocity tracking, etc

  • Continually deliver and inspect standardized, scalable, automated, solutions to ensure the team is delivering the right projects, at the right time, with the right resources

  • Drive the creation of a sequenced, integrated portfolio roadmap of program initiatives and features

  • Define and drive adoption of best-in-class program management mechanisms

  • Lead goal alignment and tracking with portfolio stakeholders

  • Develop deep knowledge of our suite of tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.) to deliver clear program progress and up to date tracking

  • Analyze data and report key business and operational trends

  • 10% travel may be required

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 4+ years of software development experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience launching new customer facing initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the entertainment or games industries

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
