Port of Seattle Project Controls Engineer IV (Scheduler) in Seattle, Washington

Some of what you'll be doing:

As a Project Controls Engineer IV, you will provide complex project controls services for technically complex, multi-faceted programs and/or projects of significant size and scope.

  • You will develop and maintain logic-driven, critical-path project/program schedules for aviation projects, identifying linkages, conflicts, interfaces, and relationships within and among projects/programs.

  • You will lead project schedules and coordinating with staff at program and project level to develop, analyze, and maintain project controls data.

  • You will perform project/program analyses to determine forecasts and predict the overall health of each project/program.

  • You will review and evaluate project/program performance and status on a routine basis and promptly report potential or actual schedule slippage or other unsatisfactory performance.

  • You will support development of project and program level risks and mitigation strategies with project team and analyze risk impacts to project budget and schedule to identify methods to mitigate risks.

  • You will support monthly project/program status meetings to review and discuss project financial, risk, and schedule health, and work with various teams to determine course of action for correction.

  • You will support regular reporting and presentations of project and program level that include cost, schedule, risk, and key performance indicators.

  • You will work with other team members to develop quarterly project cashflows through each project schedule. This is used by Finance and Budget to determine the bond funding required to ensure the delivery of the capital program.

  • You will participate in the development of Commission memos, Investment Committee forms and presentation materials, and other documents requiring approval.

Who you are:

  • Experienced – You have five (5) years of experience providing project/program controls in a project delivery environment and one (1) year of supervisory/lead/mentor experience including leading a project or process.

  • Desired – We hope you have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Construction Management or Business.

What else you need to know:

  • Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role.

  • Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.

  • Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.

  • Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
