The RN3/ANM will provide professional nursing care and leadership to develop educational programs, act as clinical resource for staff, and coordinate daily operations; assist the Nurse Manager to develop, maintain, and evaluate the on-going operations of the units.

Utilizes the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to prescribe, prioritize, delegate, coordinate, and provide safe, therapeutic allocation of nursing resources to patients/families. Makes independent judgments/decisions and takes action regarding a wide range of routine and complex staffing issues. Collaborates with appropriate disciplines to coordinate continuity of patient care from admission through discharge in support of the medical and nursing plans of care.

Performs specific leadership functions related to clinical practice, education, and/or management as delegated by and in collaboration with the Nurse Manager. As assigned by the Nurse Manager, assumes patient placement and preceptor responsibility. Provides leadership for unit and departmental activities that promote delivery of quality nursing care, effective problem solving and communication, and continued professional development for self and others.

Serves as role model and provides guidance to other staff including review and evaluation of performance.

Nurses within the Harborview Radiology Dept. screen and assess patients for safe moderate/minimal sedation for procedures such as diagnostic cerebral angiogram, angiogram for embolization, tunneled line, implanted port, and dialysis catheter placement; provide moderate sedation for other procedures such as bone and solid organ biopsy; recover patients from general anesthesia prior to transfer to elsewhere in hospital; assist team of physicians, radiology technicians, and nurses in coordination of timely care of embolic stroke patients and trauma patients requiring embolization.

Requirements: 1. BSN degree. 2. Washington State RN License (by time of hire; or applicable multistate RN license). 3. Minimum two years professional nursing experience, including critical care (ICU or ED) experience.

Desired backgrounds include: 1. Charge nurse experience. 2. Preceptor experience. 3. Other leadership/supervisory experience. 3. National nursing specialty certification.
