Amazon Senior Product Manager - Tech, AWS WAF in Seattle, Washington

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. AWS WAF helps our customers protect against common web exploits and bots that can affect availability, compromise security, or consume excessive resources. In AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF), our job is to make it easy for customers to help protect their web applications from attacks by allowing them to configure rules that allow, block, or monitor (count) web requests based on conditions that they define. We also generate detection logic that helps automatically protect customers from bad actors and automated traffic to their applications. By supporting associations with CloudFront, Application Load Balancer, and API Gateway customers can protect their applications and resources whether all in on the cloud, maintaining on premise data centers, or using a hybrid cloud approach.

Key job responsibilities

Growing and operating the AWS WAF business. Working closely with a geographically distributed team, including engineering, product and go-to-market execution. Partnering with product marketing, business development and sales to drive adoption and revenue. Delivering innovative and iterative solutions to significantly improve resiliency for the global Amazon network, Amazon.com, and all AWS services. Contributing to the overall strategy for AWS Edge Security. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Ability to dive deep with a willingness to learn what they lack.

They should be able to review system designs and have a good sense of feasibility, operational stability, and time to deliver.

Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions Strong product leadership.

They will have a history of innovative product definition backed by good judgment.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to drive cross-team collaboration

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience

  • Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market

  • Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

  • Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $236,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
