Blue Origin LLC SLD Mission Systems Engineer III - Lunar Permanence in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will help lead solutions for various spaceflight systems engineering challenges working in Mission Engineering and Phase Systems Engineer. The planning for lunar systems operations is divided into a series of phases from initial systems deployment (launch to activation, refueling, etc) through the transit to initial lunar orbit, landing, and recovery of the crew back on orbit. The Phase Systems Engineer supports the Phase Leads developing Concepts of Operation (CONOPs) as well as identifying test programs and development plan schedules to support the program's ambitious plans to launch the next generation of lunar landers, transfer cryogenic fuels at large scales between spacecraft, and transfer humans to the surface of the moon and back. These Phases all contain some of the top technical challenges critical to the success of the Lunar Program. You will work with systems engineers and multiple technical discipline engineers to review, coordinate, perform gap analysis, and manage data attributes for requirements, functions, technical performance measures, timelines, system models, interfaces, and other integrated data products across the end-to-end program life cycle. The Phase System Engineers are Systems Thinkers who proactively involves themselves in the requirements, design and development of systems that are active across all mission phases. To be successful, experience with spacecraft systems engineering will be required. This opportunity reports to the Mission Systems Engineering and Integration Section as part of the Sustaining Lunar Development Program Systems Engineering and Integration Group.
