We are currently looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our Healthcare & Life Science (HCLS) team within AIP. If you're driven by customer-centric innovation and aspire to reshape healthcare and life science across the entire spectrum, from early research to delivery, this role is your opportunity to make a significant impact.
Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer, you will have a huge impact on everything from the functionality we deliver for our customers, to the design and architecture of our systems, to the algorithms we employ, to the culture we build. You will work closely with experienced leaders and engineers to develop new features and solutions that solve broader industry challenges. Some of the things you will do:
Collaborate with teammates, other AWS Service teams and HCLS customers to understand their workflows and digital needs.
Design, develop, deploy, and maintain software as part of our new AWS service
Follow best practices in software development, Agile and DevOps methodologies and keep abreast of emerging technologies.
Mentor and grow other engineers.

About the team
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Seattle, WA, USA
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Programming experience with Java including object-oriented design. Experience with client-side technologies such as JavaScript/TypeScript, NodeJS, React or similar

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
