We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join SPS FIA (Selling Partner Services Finance, Insights & Analytics). We are looking for a top analytical mind interested in applying data driven approaches to tackle business problems and provide insights to influence high impact business decisions.

As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer with SPS Finance, you will work with our Finance and Tech team to create automated and scalable analytical tools, provide insights, and drive improved decision making. You will work with finance, business, and tech to gain input and deliver tools that meet our customer needs. You will empower data driven decision making through implementing principles of data mining, Machine Learning, data modelling and analytical skills to define and measure metrics for evaluating health of the business. You will be able to extract, integrate and work on critical data to build out data pipelines, automate reports and dashboards to communicate your findings and leverage self-service tools to internal stakeholders. This includes building the infrastructure for regular reporting on business performance, deep diving financial processes and systems across Consumer, and writing the logic for accuracy metrics and opportunity valuation.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own, design, develop, document, and manage scalable solutions for new and ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to support business needs

  • Serve as a technical, business-metrics specialist and insight provider in the organization

  • Own and develop queries and data visualizations for ad-hoc, recurring, troubleshooting requests and projects, as well as for ongoing reporting by leveraging SQL, Redshift, Quicksight, and Tableau skillsets

  • Manage and execute entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.

  • Interface with business customers to gather data and metrics requirements, then driving analytic projects which will help solve complex challenges

  • Design and develop highly available dashboards and metrics in Quicksight, our business analytics platform

  • Perform business analysis and data queries using SQL, scripting, etc.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional or military experience

  • 5+ years of SQL experience

  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

  • Experience with AWS technologies

  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
