Amazon Sr. Financial Analyst, AWS GDSP Finance in Seattle, Washington
Description
The AWS GDSP Finance Sr. Financial Analyst will support the rapidly growing AWS organization through driving financial analysis of complex private pricing deals. This is a high visibility role partnering cross-functionally with sales teams, sales operations, business development, and service finance. This role will be a strategic partner to the business in evaluating the economics of complex deals as well as assisting in operational processes, business expansion and planning/forecasting.
The candidate will be responsible for building and developing the models, tools and mechanisms necessary to address business opportunities, drive automation, improve internal controls, and earn trust across AWS. This candidate will also be responsible for providing financial stewardship and analytical insights into key financial and operational performance metrics. This person must have a passion for detail and the ability to operate at all levels, including diving deep into the foundational building blocks of the AWS services, sales organization and business development organizations. Additionally, this candidate must effectively communicate both in written and verbal form across all levels of the AWS organization, including up to Senior Leadership.

• Understand the various AWS Services, its economics and how it impacts the profitability of a customer.
• Actively provide our sales team with financial acumen and insights to positively influence private pricing deals.
• Drive financial controllership over private pricing deals by enforcing Amazon’s Spending & Transaction Policy.
• Evaluate and refine financial models that calculate customer profitability.
• Effectively communicate ideas to diverse audiences.
• Own and oversee a specific process from a deals desk finance perspective.
• Provide leadership, guidance and implementation to drive process improvement.
• Possess the passion and demonstrated skills for developing relationships, processes and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
Preferred Qualifications
MBA, or CPA
3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
3+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Exceptional analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to build financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving.
Strong judgment to understand different perspectives, manage conflicts and have backbone to drive progress and alignment, while fostering an environment of open dialogue
Ability to work and communicate across all levels of the organization.
Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis
Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel and providing recommendations based on results to senior management for strategic decision-making.
Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
