As part of a hardworking team, you will develop and execute design avionics electronic hardware used to operate rocket engines in space. This development team is tightly knit and very collaborative, with a variety of experience and backgrounds. We care about the success of our peers and are eager to help each other learn and grow. As a functional manager, you will direct the electrical engineering resources for Blue Engine controllers across multiple engine development teams and will directly impact the history of space exploration. This includes direct management responsibility of electrical engineers, their assignments, and their professional growth. This leader promotes the team to improve analytical capabilities tools, and establish technical standards and development processes. This includes sharing lessons learned across Blue Engines programs with a continuous improvement mindset. Responsibilities: You will be responsible for employee life cycle management including performance management, career development, training and allocating engineering resources to development programs in the Engine Avionics organization. Specifically, you will be directing electrical design resources for the development of the BE-7 engine controller as well as electric engine ignition products. Develop electronic circuits, printed circuit boards, as rugged electronic hardware assemblies across the entire product life-cycle; including concept and requirements definition, design, prototyping, verification (power-on, functional / acceptance / qualification testing) and release to production. Lead developers of analog instrumentation measurement circuity, embedded processing, and mixed-signal designs. These systems connect with sensors and electromechanical/electro-hydraulic actuators. Designs include analysis, schematics, PCB layout and characterization. Participate in program level technology development, mission assurance and safety initiatives, and avionics development process improvements. Qualifications: Passion for Blue Origin's mission: Millions of people living and working in space. Minimum of a B.S. degree in electrical, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field and 8+ years of experience developing electronic systems. 5+ years of experience managing, guiding, and mentoring less experienced engineers Direct hands-on experience with analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design, analysis, test, and debug Familiarity with instrumentation measurement circuit development, analog-to-digital converters, power supplies, and analog circuits Sound record of people management, employee career development and leading technical and process initiatives Ability to be self-directed and balance several tasks at one time Strong written and verbal communication skills; strength in teams and collaboration in a diverse
