Amazon Sr. Product Manager - Technical, Image Localization in Seattle, Washington

The Amazon Canada Product & Tech organization is looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager - Tech (PMT) to join the French Customer Experience Team (FRCX). The FRCX product team works across the customer journey to improve the CX for Canada’s millions of French-language customers, a key component of Amazon Canada’s long-term strategy. This Sr. PMT role will be responsible for envisioning, designing, and delivering products that will localize onsite images to customer’s language of preference, first for Canada, and then worldwide. To achieve the long-term vision, the Sr. PMT will work on operationalizing multiple ML models, leveraging LLMs, defining new system architecture while working to understand and define changes needed to a very large, technically complex existing architecture. As a key component of Canada’s strategy, this role has high visibility with regular interaction with senior leadership.

Candidates for this role have a track record of moving seamlessly between defining an ambitious, customer-centric, north star vision and working tactically to test, iterate, and deliver the right technical solutions. They ground their product vision in research, experimentation, and data analysis. They have strong business acumen, analytical skills, and comfort working with large, complex data sets. They are persistent in seeking answers to hard problems and developing multifaceted solutions. They balance being scrappy and frugal with maintaining highest standards and scalability.

As Sr. PMT, they leverage excellent verbal and written communication skills to share their product vision, business requirements, priorities, etc., working backwards from the intended audience, from engineers to senior business leaders. They are responsible for leading, influencing, and collaborating with many teams, especially software development, science, product management, UX design, and business, legal, and finance teams.

-Define and deliver localization products for Canada that will scale worldwide

-Partner closely with engineering, science, design, business, legal, and finance teams

-Author product documents to communicate the vision for new ideas grounded in customer research, business analysis, and market research

-Contribute to technical design decisions, hold the engineering team to a high standard for product solutions, and recognize when the technical design of a feature is complex, limits performance, scale, extensibility, and/or the ability innovate in the future

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience managing technical products or online services

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

  • Experience with concepts such as system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
