The Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Washington is seeking a full-time Cardiothoracic Surgery Inpatient Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide patient care at the University of Washington Medical Center-Montlake.

DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS
Teaching Associate
Full-time, 12-month service period (July 1-June 30)academic position on a yearly appointment and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Work on a dedicated cardiothoracic inter-professional team with other established APPs, Cardiothoracic surgeons, and Mechanical Circulatory support providers.
Perform minor bedside procedures and wound management as needed
Provide a full spectrum of care for cardiac acute care surgical patients
Participate in the education of nursing staff and surgical residents
Participate in quality improvement projects and process improvement activities for the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery
Performs other related duties as required REQUIREMENTS
Current and valid state Registered Nurse Licensure for ARNP or Physician Assistant licensure for PA-C
Graduate Degree from and accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or accredited Physician Assistant Program
Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA
Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment
Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in the care of patients undergoing Cardiothoracic Surgical procedures.
ACLS Certification
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
