Nordstrom, Inc. seeks Technical Program Manager Sr in Seattle, WA.

Duties: Manage programs of high impact, risk, complexity while building and executing integrated plans across multiple teams. Present demos, status updates and risk/mitigation strategies and communicate down the pyramid through VP level. Create, evolve & communicate capability requirements that form cohesive plans that align to a multi-year strategy. Apply experience as well as technical, functional and customer expertise to define the technical components of a multi-year capability roadmap. Strategically influence timing and rational for design choices fora capability. Manage prioritization of business needs, define the technical components of capability roadmap and project scope, and own process definition and maintenance. Influence stakeholder expectations through direct relationships. Identify issues and changes and independently drive solutions. Successfully manage resource planning and a large team budget, accurately forecasting 6 months ahead and explaining variances. Act as a mentor to others on team as asked. Possess broader understanding of how data drives decisions across technology and the business. Use data to drive capability and process enhancements and shape the program and future programs. Determine what data is needed to inform on system health and effectiveness. Possess strong level of knowledge of technology (e.g. Cloud, APIs, services, Windows stack, open source, database technologies, etc.). Demonstrate broad and deep understanding of end-to-end capability. Participate and advise teams on technology choices, direction, value to design, code, test reviews and planning. Lead change within team to improve delivery methodology, speed and quality. Use engineering lifecycle knowledge and prior experience to drive improvements. Identify and validate estimates of effort to complete engineering work streams. Represent engineering lead perspective in meetings with outside engineering teams and business stakeholders. Present technical demos to broader audience. Show clear recognition of the challenges the organization is facing, the concerns of the people and the impact of their decisions. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of specific needs of a major line of business.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or a related field plus 3 years of experience. Additionally, position requires:

  • 2 years of experience aligning customer and end user expectations on the overall goal and business requirements;
  • 2 years of experience analyzing and defining features and stories with functional design, and partnering with product owners and customers on prioritization and product roadmap;
  • 2 years of experience with Cloud based DevOps software development;
  • 2 years of data analysis experience, inferring causes and actions re-pivoting data based on needs;
  • 2 years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases;
  • 2 years of experience with project management, stakeholder management, project planning and estimation, backlog refinement and prioritization, change management, and integration management;
  • 1 year of experience monitoring the health of systems, including defining metrics and alerts, and creating dashboards;
  • 1 year of Agile software development experience, going through a complete lifecycle of a software system from inception to delivery and support using Scrum or Kanban;
  • 1 year of experience managing stakeholder relationships using reporting tools including Excel, automation scripts, and cron or batch jobs;
  • 1 year of experience with incident and issue management, prioritizing and triaging issues using ServiceNow.
