Responsibilities

Job Summary

This job is responsible for the design, development and implementation of the Boeing Classic PGA Champions Tour Tournament in Seattle, WA. An incumbent develops the annual business and marketing plans for the event; provides leadership for the volunteer structure and other applicable committees; and establishes and cultivates relationships with event constituents.

Essential Duties:

  • Develops a comprehensive business plan for the event and assumes overall fiscal accountability for its success.

  • Establishes and cultivates meaningful relationships with the host club/venue, local sponsor representatives, local media, corporate and community leaders, hospitality industry, government/civic entities, and other community-based steering committees and golf-related organizations to foster the overall perception of the event.

  • Develops and leads a comprehensive volunteer structure, including prominent Co-Chairpersons, to champion the event.

  • Develops, in collaboration with the President, Foundation, an annual sales plan for corporate hospitality and other tournament revenue streams; leads and oversees the sales efforts of the Boeing Classic team.

  • Develops an annual marketing plan to include advertising, promotions and public relations to build tournament awareness and promote local ticket sales.

Qualifications

Education/Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field, and five years of work experience running a PGA tour, Champions Tour, Nationwide Tour or an equivalent major league event.

  • An equivalent combination of experience and education that demonstrates the requisite job knowledge/abilities may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
