Job Title: Community Support Specialist

Location: Sedalia, MO

Department: Youth Community Services

Employment Type: Full-time

Shift: Varying shifts between 8am-8pm, Monday-Friday

Job Summary: Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking a Youth & Family Community Support Specialist in our Sedalia location. In this role, you will evaluate patients' needs, arrange assistance, provide referrals to support programs, assist families, provide information on housing/daycare, support disabled persons and families with young children. You'll conduct interviews, determine areas of needed support, provide parental education, maintain detailed notes and confidential records, and have in-depth knowledge of available community programs and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients' needs and arrange assistance

  • Provide referrals to various community support programs

  • Assist families in need with housing, daycare, disability support

  • Support families with young children

  • Conduct interviews to determine areas needing most support

  • Provide parental education

  • Maintain detailed notes and confidential records for each case

  • Have comprehensive knowledge of available community programs/support

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services field such as Psychology, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Social Work, Education, Recreational Therapy, Human Development & Family Studies, Gerontology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Sociology or equivalent qualifying experience

  • Must work well with children

  • Organized and energetic

  • Strong time management skills

  • Willingness to help others and show initiative

  • Excellent communication abilities

  • Reliable transportation

  • Flexibility with schedules

  • Ability to transport clients as needed

  • Valid driver's license with favorable driving record

  • Current auto insurance coverage
