GE Vernova M&D Lead Technical Application Engineer in Seoul, South Korea

Job Description Summary

The Technical Application Engineer (TAE) for the Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D) product line within Grid Automation will be responsible for providing technical sales support, work closely with the regional sales and service teams and directly with customers to determine requirements, demo solutions and promote the business value proposition of the M&D products and solutions to customers within the China East Asia Pacific region.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Acts as expert consultant to guide customer in planning and development of technical solutions

  • Acts as pre-sales technical support to the commercial teams and customers, providing technical expertise during customer presentations, product demonstrations, evaluations, trainings and testing.

  • Assists with technical development of proposals, assuring compliance to Customer's specifications by working closely with engineering, product managers, and proposal managers

  • Lead and support product promotion, evaluation, demonstrations and testing to obtain product approval with customer

  • Provide an essential link from the customer to marketing, engineering and product development teams

  • Support Commercial Segment Leaders and Product Line Leaders with definition and execution of the Product Line strategy, with particular emphasis on Product enhancement, New Product Introductions and value proposition

  • Support the development of new leads and business development opportunities in the Region

  • Prepare and present technical presentations, white papers, and case studies at industry conferences

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university

  • 7 years of relevant experience with minimum 3 years in Monitoring & Diagnostics and/or in Power System Protection, Control, Automation and/or Instrumentation field

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, as required

Desired Characteristics

  • Power system automation and communication expertise

  • Transformer monitoring and diagnostic application expertise

  • Knowledge of substation primary equipment especially transformer and circuit breakers

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal

  • Customer focused attitude with proven positive results

  • Experience working successfully in cross-functional teams

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong creative, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Able to share ideas and work well in a team environment

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Prior field service experience will be advantageous

  • Relevant work experience with transformer manufacturers, monitoring system providers will be advantageous
