Ohio Farmers Insurance Company Community Investment Leader in Seville, Ohio

The Community Investment Leader working under limited supervision, is responsible for enabling the philanthropic and civic leadership activity and initiatives of the enterprise. The role develops the Community Investment strategy in alignment with the enterprise's vision and the Foundation's focus areas and ensures that the strategy serves as an inspiration for internal and external stakeholders. The Community Investment Senior Lead guides and executes the strategy and communicates effectively with the Foundation Board and key stakeholders regarding progress and impact. Contributes thought leadership to the field of corporate philanthropy both internally and externally. In partnership with the Foundation Board, defines the vision to support the Foundation's focus areas, communicates this vision, and develops the Community Investment strategy to support the vision; this includes integrating our global philanthropic activities into the overarching enterprise story. Defines the Community Investment annual plan and implements philanthropic and civic leadership initiatives for the company in support of the Foundation's vision and the Community Investment strategy. Ensures the Community Investment strategy is in alignment with the company's vision, communicates the alignment effectively, and guides execution so that it serves continuously as an inspiration across the enterprise. Develops and implements sustainable Community Investment initiatives for long term community impact and positive brand and culture for Westfield. Maintains and supports the relationship with the Foundation Board, communicating on progress and impact of the Community Investment initiatives. Represents the company within the community in various ways, through existing partnerships, identification of new partnerships, and demonstrating thought leadership across the enterprise through participating in various meetings and externally through participation at conferences ad speaking engagements. Manages the distribution of allocations for both the Foundation and the company (exceeds $3M), including the identification, evaluation, and recommendation of nonprofit organizations to support. Develops effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees working within Standard Lines, Specialty US and Specialty International, agents/brokers, trade associations, vendors and peer organizations. Identifies key strategic, social, political issues and takes proactive action to maintain positive brand positioning in the market, engages in PR related damage control exercises, and adjusts accordingly to influence positive corporate positioning and effectiveness. Develops and maintains communications plans and relevant written and visual content, for Community Investment department efforts using internal and external print and digital communications vehicles, in partnership with marketing as applicable. May lead up to two employees and own talent management and navigation of employee related issues that impact morale and work environment to ensure a high performing team including hiring, selection, succession planning, performance and compensation management, and employee development and career coaching as required. Manages priorities and workload distribution and removes barriers that impede progress. 10+ years of experience in Corporate Affairs, philanthropy, nonprofit management, Policy Development, Public Relations or a related field. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, and/or commensurate experience.
