The Mainframe/Db2 IT Manager is responsible for the organization's critical mainframe systems, Db2 databases, and related infrastructure. This role is essential to ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of the IT backbone that supports key business operations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive leadership experience, strategic vision for optimizing IT infrastructure, and the leadership skills to guide a high-performing team. This position involves developing and implementing forward-thinking IT strategies, managing end-to-end mainframe and database projects, and ensuring timely delivery of solutions that align with business objectives. It includes oversight of vendor relationships and software contracts to maximize efficiency and integration, while maintaining operational excellence and fiscal responsibility. A strong focus on data privacy compliance and security measures will ensure the safeguarding of critical assets. The Mainframe/Db2 IT Manager will play a key role in driving transformative initiatives while ensuring the stability and continuous improvement of the IT infrastructure. #LI-DNI Manages and implements IT security measures, including access controls, data encryption, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems, to safeguard sensitive information and protect against cyber threats. Conducts regular IT audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities, ensure compliance with security standards, and develop mitigation strategies. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, such as operations, underwriting, and claims, to understand their technology needs and provide effective IT solutions and support. Leads IT projects, from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards and provides regular updates to stakeholders on project progress. Establishes and maintains relationships with external technology partners, vendors, and service providers, leveraging their expertise and resources to enhance the company's IT capabilities. Owns accountability for talent management and navigation of employee related issues that impact morale and work environment to ensure a high performing team including hiring, selection, succession planning, performance and compensation management, and employee development and career coaching as required. Manages priorities and workload distribution and removes barriers that impede progress. Collaborates with stakeholders to identify and prioritize IT projects, ensuring their successful implementation and timely delivery. Evaluates and selects vendors and partners, negotiating contracts and managing ongoing relationships. Monitors and maintains compliance with relevant IT regulations, security protocols, and data privacy policies. Develops and manages the IT budget, tracking expenses and identifies cost-saving opportunities. Implements and maintains disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize potential disruptions. 7+ years of experience in Information Technology or a related field. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and/or commensurate experience. Master's degree in related field is preferred. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
