Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Pacific (NAVFAC Pacific) is looking for journey level Civil Engineers in the Spokane commuting area for our upcoming satellite design and engineering office in Spokane, Washington.

Typical projects include: site developments, roads, airfields, water supply, sewer systems, drainage, dredging, solid waste facilities, shore protection, and other civil works to suppor tnew or existing facilities and encompass large industrial facilities, buildings or project sites, with diverse climatic, geographic and environmental conditions. 

A NAVFAC Civil Engineer provides independent, timely, and professional civil engineering products, services, and consultation for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of facilities for the Navy, Marine Corps, and other Supported Commands including minor work projects, special projects, Military Construction (MILCON), demolition, mainenance, space utilization, and facilities development.

Position Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  2. Registered Professional Engineer
  3. 5+ years of Civil Engineering experience
  4. Valid State Driver's License
  5. SECRET Clearance

Additional Position Information: Civil Engineer

Perform design analyses and calculations for civil projects and is responsible for the preparation of final detailed working drawings, comparative cost analysis, Request for Proposals (RFPs), and project specifications for a wide variety of facility types.

Conduct site investigation field trips to project sites, as required, to collect all pertinent data and refine or develop project scope by inspection of existing conditions and through meetings with sponsoring activity.

Develop complex designs and analyses utilizing advanced civil engineering software. Utilizes the Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG), AutoCAD civil design/analysis software, and Specs-In-Tact technologies for the completion of design drawings and specifications.

Perform quality assurance reviews of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and studies prepared by private architectural and engineering (A/E) design firms. Submittals are reviewed for completeness, functionality, sound engineering practice and compliance with DoD and NAVFAC criteria, and other applicable codes and standards.

Performs technical administration of designs, design management, and coordination efforts with other engineers and architects involved in multi-discipline projects.

Provide post construction award services (PCAS) including review and approval of contractor's submittals to determine that they conform to the requirements of the contract drawings and specifications.
