Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Pacific (NAVFAC Pacific) is looking for journey level Fire Protection Engineers in the Spokane commuting area for our upcoming satellite design and engineering office in Spokane, Washington.

A NAVFAC Fire Protection Engineer provides independent, timely, and professional fire protection engineering products, services, and consultation, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities for the Navy, Marine Corps, and other Supported Commands. Customer activities have varied missions requiring facility types, ranging from administrative and housing facilities to complex industrial and operational facilities. Projects are challenging and exciting and include specific projects, special projects, military construction (MILCON), demolition, maintenance, space utilization, and facilities development.

Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer
- 5+ years of Fire Protection Engineering experience
- Valid State Driver's License
- SECRET Clearance
Additional Position Information: Fire Protection Engineer
- Perform design analysis and calculations for fire protection projects and is responsible for the preparation of final detailed working drawings, comparative cost analysis, Request for Proposals (RFPs), and project specifications for a wide variety of facility types (housing clubs, maintenance shops, dining facilities, administration buildings, command and control centers, hangars, medical facilities, towers, and waterfront/harbor structures.
- Develop complex designs and analyses utilizing advanced fire protection engineering software
- Coordinate activities with other engineers and architects, including Design-Bid-Build (DBB) and Design-Build (DB) projects, to ensure that final detailed working drawings, specifications, and RFPs are properly integrated with the building systems.
- Ensure that the structural aspects of the project are constructed in accordance with contract plans and specifications.
Requirements for all NAVFAC Positions:
- A US Citizen aged 18 or older at time of hire
- Males registered or exempt from Selective Service www.sss.gov
- Determined suitable for federal employment (process includes a background check and fingerprinting)
