Sierra Nevada Corporation A&P Mechanic/Avionic Technician IV (Deployable) in Shalimar, Florida

Are you a highly skilled mechanic ready to take your aviation career to next level? Join our team! As an A&P Mechanic IV, you will be responsible for repairs, replacement and maintenance of the key components of aircrafts. You'll perform the necessary checks in regards to the mechanical and functional components of the aircraft, including the testing of and replacement of defective or faulty parts. You'll use a variety of tools and equipment to perform diagnosis on parts to be replaced, and ensure repairs and maintenance are compliant with national and international standards of work, all while maintaining safety and cleanliness of the hanger or workshop. You will demonstrate advanced knowledge in the main components of aviation maintenance including airframe maintenance, power plant mechanics, or Airframe & Power plant (A&P) components.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and at typically 10 or more years of relevant experience

  • A higher level degree may substitute for experience

  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Must pass, written, oral and practical assessments

  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations

  • Ability to speak, read and write in English

  • U.S. Citizen with U.S. Passport

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment

  • Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 60/60 rotation

  • Advanced experience in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines

  • Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications

  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command restriction requirements for deployed locations.

  • Must be willing to travel CONUS off rotation to perform Training, Medical, and Certification renewals.

  • Perform other duties assigned

  • An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience

  • Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends

  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS)

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military

  • Experience with Ground Support Equipment (GSE).

  • Understanding of FAA regulations, policies, and procedures and Flight Ground Operating Procedures (FGOP).

  • Business jet or equivalent

  • Completion of the CAE Global Training Course.

  • Familiar with Proline FMS, Specifically Proline Fusion

  • Previous OCONUS deployment experience in remote locations
