Study Group Operations Manager in Shanghai, China

Position Title: Operations Manager

Location:  China (preferably Shanghai but open to other locations as well)

Reporting To: Executive Director Partner Management Operations - RoW

Travel Requirement: Occasional Travel required per annum

The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic team at the forefront of global education as our Operations Manager. In this role, you will manage and optimize operational processes for our existing business partnerships across the Rest of World (RoW) regions. You’ll provide effective advice, guidance, and support to enhance program delivery and student experience with our partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead operational excellence for existing partnerships, collaborating with the Academic Manager and Quality and Progression Manager.

  • Provide ongoing operational advice and support to partners, including training on handbooks, class arrangements, delivery, technical support, student progression, and welfare.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of BAU operations, developing and implementing plans for operational excellence.

  • Build and maintain effective partnership relationships, acting as the first point of contact for inquiries and concerns.

  • Collaborate with partners to identify areas for program improvement and resolve operational issues respectfully.

  • Maintain strong internal and external relationships with stakeholders to promote Study Group’s profile.

  • Present technical and complex information concisely, engaging varied audiences effectively.

  • Utilize business and data insights to monitor partner performance and identify trends.

  • Leverage technology to enhance teaching, learning experiences, and support educational outcomes.

  • Support compliance, quality assurance, and progression for partner delivery, collaborating with the Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Progression Associate Director.

  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Safeguard students by ensuring compliance with partnership policies, work standards, and statutory obligations.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing enhancements across operations, systems, processes, and methodologies.

    Your Experience and Skills:

  • Relevant undergraduate degree in education, business administration or similar.

  • Demonstrated management experience in the international or pathway, or education sector, university, or a related commercial sector.

  • Experience of partnership relationships at senior leadership and middle management levels within organisations.

  • Experienced partnership relationship leader or manager.

  • Good knowledge of operational frameworks, compliance needs in the partner’s country (e.g. China, SE Asia) and preferably of those relevant from the UK.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese, proficiency in other languages desirable.
