Avantor, Inc. Rep - Customer Service in Shanghai, China

Job SummaryThrough and in-depth knowledge of the entire management processes and systems, as well as a very good understanding of customers and markets, supports the business for a defined portfolio of customers. The Rep- Customer Service is responsible for all order management activities, including quotes, order entry, order management, inventory management, delivery arrangement and invoicing, with the goal to help generate orders and revenues, based on current policies, procedures and guidelines. The Rep- Customer Service will work closely with sales, purchasing and Logistic Centers to communicate and deliver information. The Rep- Customer will work with other departments, like Finance, Marketing, in order to provide high quality services to customers.


  • All sales order processing in SAP including quotes, order, delivery and invoice.

  • Check and monitor whole order to cash process, stock and supply status, and evaluate potential risks

  • As a window contact to reply internal/external customer enquiries from order to cash in terms of order progress, stock availability, logistics quality, supply to make sure on-time delivery.

  • Check the material validity and price effectiveness in SAP

  • Following payment with finance and customers.

  • Be system management expertise, both SAP and E-ordering.

  • Contact with customer to make sure the valid certificates for chemical goods or DGs

  • Manage returned and defective products to distribution centre and provide credit to customers

  • Contribute to continuous service quality improvements to ensure business compliance

  • Take ownership of customers’ issues and resolutions

  • Ensures highest level of customer satisfaction (internal and external)

  • Other task assigned by the line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor Degree, with 3 -5 years of customer service relevant experience

  • International trade / logistics major or related experiences will be a plus

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Customer-oriented mindset

  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment

  • Good customer service, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications

  • Self motivated and demonstrates initiative and result oriented

  • Must be able to communicate in Mandarin & English (Verbal and Written)
