What you’ll do:
• Be a highly technical individual to participate in a product engineering team in the design, analysis, modification, or enhancement of Wiring drives products. Work to meet cost, performance, and schedule requirements.
• Provide design specification, define the test requirement, and perform qualification test in support of product cost reduction program, strategic sourcing opportunities, product obsolescence replacements, manufacturing issues and any other product design changes.
• Guide and/or conduct testing to regulatory agency, internal standards, and international standards. Define and participate in the Engineering Lab improvement activities.
• Handling technical problems raised in tooling making and manufacture efficiently and effectively with engineering knowledge in tooling development or modification.
• Applies knowledge of internal/external processes to develop and implement strategic work assignments. Writes reports, test plans, functional specifications, and other related or supporting levels of documentation.
• Function effectively in a team environment and have the ability to communicate on a technical level interfacing with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality, Marketing, Technicians and outside vendors.
• Demonstrate organizational, communication, and documentation skills in order to clearly convey status updates, technical issues, design alternatives, etc
Qualifications:
5+ years of mechanical Design Experience, Expert in CAD software (Pro/E Preferred) design . Be able to manipulate large assemblies (>100 components) effectively.
Experience in engineering document control and familiar with processing revisions on product documentation through the requirement of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
Experience with designing for agency certifications such as UL, IEC, etc. as related to specific products.
Familiarity with Wiring Devices products and low voltage products. Knowledge of Domestic and foreign Wiring Devices and industry trends.
Experience with UL and/or IEC Wiring Devices design requirements.
Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) processes/tools and SAP experience is a plus.
Have a thorough working knowledge of production part processes: plastic forming, moldings, castings and sheet-metal manufacturing methods. A broad understanding of numerous other piece-part prototyping techniques could also be applied towards design activities.
Have the ability to conceptualize designs, improve on existing products, evaluate and develop various designs and manufacturing methods to optimize production or cost reduction.
Familiar with Wiring device product design and related UL/IEC standard.
Good communication skill, team work player.
Good at English.
Proficiency with Excel and other data process tool .
Multi-task handling skills.
Willing to travel.
