In 2017, we stood up a team in China to drive the awareness, activation, and continued success of China-based sellers and brands advertising in marketplaces worldwide (North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific) via marketing channels, seller education, and product marketing.

We are looking for a Sr. Marketing Manager to lead the expansion of new social channels, drive social listening programs, and explore region-specific channel initiatives for Amazon Ads China. This role will spearhead strategies to grow brand presence across emerging platforms, enhance audience engagement, and capture critical customer insights. The ideal candidate will own the social channel expansion roadmap, identify new opportunities for engagement and growth, and ensure alignment with both local and global teams to create holistic, integrated marketing strategies. This person will work internally in a cross-functional manner, collaborating with teams across Amazon Ads to identify and address our audience needs and turning it into scalable marketing programs. This role will also oversee social listening efforts to better understand customer sentiment and needs, influencing strategic decisions across marketing and product teams. The Marketing Manager will own testing and measurement, optimizing for what drives performance and reporting the impact of marketing program on business growth. To ensure infosec compliant, the role also governs channel’s data-handling process and facilitate reviews with relevant team and program owners. By driving innovative regional initiatives, this individual will explore and activate opportunities in both established and emerging channels, creating targeted campaigns and partnerships to further grow Amazon Ads’ footprint.

Key job responsibilities

  • Social Channel Expansion. Identify, evaluate, and launch new social media platforms that align with the brand's growth objectives. Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for the channel(s), including channel positioning, audience segmentation, content strategy, and performance KPIs.

  • Social Listening. Develop and implement social and digital listening frameworks to monitor customer sentiment, industry trends, and competitor activities across key platforms. Use insights to shape content, marketing campaigns, and brand messaging.

  • Platform Innovation. Stay ahead of social and digital trends, industry innovations, and technology advancements. Champion new tools, platforms, and content formats that can provide a competitive edge. Lead the exploration of region-specific platforms and media outlets, focusing on optimizing and tailoring strategies for high-growth and high-potential program, and tapping into customer behavior and trends to create localized strategies.

  • Partner with cross-org and cross-functional teams to develop impactful marketing campaigns that increase engagement and drive conversions. Ensure campaigns are optimized for each platform and audience segment, with cohesive brand messaging and alignment with business goals.

  • Continuously analyze the performance of social channels, campaigns, initiatives through owned and third-party tools and reports. Use data and gather VOC to optimize strategies and improve KPIs, such as reach, engagement, conversion.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in social media marketing, digital marketing, or a related field. Proven track record of expanding into new channels and driving measurable growth.

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms (both global and CN-specific) including Red, Instagram, TikTok, WeChat, Weibo and emerging platforms. Experience with social listening tools (e.g., Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Hootsuite) is a plus. Knowledge of region-specific platforms and behaviors. Experience in regional marketing strategies and localizing content for diverse audiences.

  • Ability to analyze data, interpret trends, and derive actionable insights. Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau) is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.

  • Ability to generate creative ideas and bring them to life in a fast-paced environment. Passion for staying on top of industry trends.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop forward-looking strategies for channel expansion and audience growth.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present strategies to senior leadership. Ability to influence and guide decision-making at all levels of the organization.

  • Experience developing cross-functional relationships with product, consumer research and marketing technology teams to develop strategy and marketing insights that drive compelling creative executions
