Dairy Farmers of America Production Operator - 2nd & 3rd Shift in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 28253 * Perform a variety of line duties within the manufacturing environment to include highly skilled / senior-level processing, machine operator, and/or break relief operator jobs (e.g., Receiver, Blend/Filler/CIP/Retort/ Evaporator/Pasteurizer operators). This may include troubleshooting and performing minor maintenance repairs * Review process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot * Assist with training efforts in functional area as needed * Review charts, screens, quality check sheets, and specifications that are in both hard copy and electronic format * Engage in problem solving to assist in improving production, safety, quality, and yields * Ensure operational efficiencies by positioning work, setting up of jobs, adjusting and operating equipment for proper functions and manufacturing of product * Perform quality monitoring of statistical information and report on variations to supervisor and lab * Inspect and identify any issues and perform preventative maintenance when needed * Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately * Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues * Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements * The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED preferred Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal Effective verbal and written communications skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including drug, background and criminal checks Must be able to stand, walk, pull, push, reach and bend virtually the entire shift Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others when lifting is necessary and manually stack and move cases up to 6-8 cases high Must be able to work in a wet environment and work in an environment where temperature is maintained at 35-40 degrees Fahrenheit Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays May occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals An Equal Opportunity Employer
