Magna Seating of America, Inc-Shelby Foam Systems Production Operator in Shelby Township, Michigan
The operator is a member of a production team, whose role is:
- to apply Standardized Work and respect all operating instructions at workstation
- react in case of a problem
- contribute to continuous improvement (participate in problem solving groups and in workshops)
As a contributor to the development of team autonomy, the operator:
- has the level of polyvalence- job rotation
(minimum knowledge of* three *workstations at level 3)
- tracks results and specific information in case of problems
- participates in communication (Top 5, meetings), and provides all necessary information on team
activities, results, problems, opportunities for improvement.
- trains other operators and newcomers upon request, shares know-how, provides assistance if
needed.
We have several different positions in Production:
SPRAY
Prepare molds so foam does not stick to the mold
INSERT
Inserts are added to mold depending on part specification
DEMOLD/CLEAN
Foam is formed, part is removed from the mold, mold is cleaned
TRIMMERS
Examine part and trim any excess foam from the part
INSPECTION/GLUE
Complete inspection of part, adding glue to small tears in the foam
SANDER
Examine parts and sand any excess foam from the parts
REPAIR
Inspection of part to determine if repairs are needed, repairs completed if necessary
Second inspection is completed
PACKOUT/BOX
Parts are sorted, counted, packed and labeled for shipment
