Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times, as well as:
Troubleshoot electrical controls, PLCs, and variable frequency drives.
Install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to plcs, power supplies, drives, gages, and test equipment.
Run electrical conduit, water, and gas. Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production in a timely manner.
Plan, layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
Operate welding equipment and cutting torch to cut or join metal parts.
Set up and operate machine tools such as a lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, dies, and fixtures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance experience.
Must have basic computer skills.
Be available for 2nd Shift

Preferences:
Microsoft Office product experience.
Strong electrical background.
Experience operating heavy machinery other than warehouse forklifts.
Possess a two year technical degree (with industrial maintenance experience.
Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
