DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:
As a Manufacturing Engineer at KMG, you will play a critical role in improving manufacturing processes, enhancing product quality, and increasing efficiency within our production facilities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing systems and processes.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and processes.
- Analyze and plan workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Collaborate with design engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Conduct time studies and motion analysis to optimize production efficiency.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to improve process capabilities.
- Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
- Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and provide technical support to production teams.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production problems and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce costs.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for layout and design.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Experience with time studies, motion analysis, and workflow optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
