In this role in Shirehampton, Bristol, you’ll support a lady in her 60's who has learning disabilities and lives in her own home, who likes to live a full life and direct her own support. You will join a supportive team and you will be able to add value to the service, ideally you will have previous experience of support work and will have a driving licence.

Working in our friendly teams, you’ll enable the people you support to increase their independence and live life in the way they choose. You’ll provide person-centred support in all aspects of everyday life, including supporting with personal care and medication needs.

The lady you’ll support lives in her own home. You’ll support her with everyday tasks (for example cleaning and cooking) as well as to do the things she enjoys, for example going to cafes, to the cinema and on holiday, as well as drawing. She only requires minimal prompts with personal care. You’ll also support with her mental health needs.

You’re considerate, committed, resilient and respect people’s differences. Empathetic, you adapt your approach to individuals’ needs, have good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. You can build professional relationships and have a ‘can-do’ attitude. All support workers work flexible shifts to provide a 24/7 service to the people we support including evenings and weekends.

We provide a range of benefits, including a pension and shopping discounts.

Full-time support workers work 37.5 hours plus one sleep-in a week (pay for sleep-ins included in annual salary above). Some services do not require sleep-ins, and salary for these roles is £17,794 - £18,492 pa.

You have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services - paid at £50-£70 extra per sleep-in.
