How you make a difference

As the Clinical Operations Director (COD) for the correctional healthcare program, you will operate under the guidance of the Health Service Administrator (HSA) to oversee and ensure the quality of healthcare delivery within correctional facilities. Collaborating closely with the HSA, you will manage and assess the Health Care Delivery Program, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations while aligning medical, dental, and mental health activities with company policies and facility protocols. Additionally, you will work alongside regional and site leadership to uphold compliance with relevant governmental and state accreditation standards, contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare operations within the correctional setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HSA and regional leadership to ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and contractual obligations, fostering communication and positive relationships with facility stakeholders and outside agencies.

  • Assess operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness, utilizing financial and statistical data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to enhance program effectiveness.

  • Maintain organizational efficiency to deliver approved and appropriate medical services, while actively participating in Quality Improvement initiatives such as quality-of-care audits, grievance management, and oversight for patient access.

  • Participate in Quality Improvement standards by conducting CQI monthly reports, intake tracking, and other duties as assigned by the HSA, contributing to the overall enhancement of healthcare delivery within correctional facilities.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate program needs, identify problems, and implement strategies to address them, ensuring the provision of high-quality healthcare services in accordance with established standards and regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Business Administration, or health related field is preferred.

Experience

  • Two or more years’ experience in a medium to large operation as a Health Administrator providing delivery and administration of correctional medical, dental, and mental health care.

  • Three or more years’ administrative, management and supervisory experience.

Licenses/Certifications

  • CPR certification.

  • Other Certification/licensure as appropriate to discipline
