The Water Resources Program *within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a *Metering Coordinator (Environmental Specialist 3) (In-Training) position. This position is located in our Northwest Region Office (NWRO) *in *Shoreline, WA{rel="nofollow"}. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

*Please Note: *The salary posted above includes the additional 5% premium pay that this position will receive due to its location in Shoreline, WA{target="_blank" rel="noopener"} in King County.  

Grow your communication skills, develop Washington water law expertise, and make a meaningful contribution to natural resource protection! In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to water right holders, encouraging voluntary compliance, and taking enforcement measures to manage water resources and ensure adherence to state water regulations across the Northwest Region (King, Snohomish, Kitsap, Skagit, Island, Whatcom, and San Juan counties). There will be limited field work opportunities, especially during the summer months. You will be joining a collaborative and supportive team of Water Resources staff. 

Note: *This position offers a career path and on-the-job training. This position allows you to progress through the *Environmental Specialist *field and achieve the goal class of an *Environmental Specialist 3 (ES3). Candidates will be considered at the ES2 and the* ES3 levels, depending on their qualifications. Program Mission: The mission of the Water Resources program is to manage water resources to meet the needs of people and the natural environment, in partnership with Washington's communities.

*Telework options for this position: *This position will have flexibility of a hybrid schedule, empowering work from home and office, providing less time in traffic and shrinking your carbon footprint. Initially, this position requires in-office training three days a week for the first six months. After successful completion, it will then be eligible for up to an 80% telework schedule with one day a week in-office.
