This vacancy is located in the Caddo Parish Child Support Enforcement office in Shreveport, LA.

Child Support Enforcement Supervisor has a Special Entrance Rate (SER): $24.35/hr.

This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months. Youmust include all relevant education and experience on your official State application.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A baccalaureate degree plus three years of professional level experience in child support enforcement.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree.

Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows:

A maximum of 120 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.

30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.

60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.

90 to 119 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.

120 or more semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.

College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for a maximum of four years full-time work experience towards the baccalaureate degree. Candidates with 120 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years of full-time work experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.

Graduate training with eighteen semester hours in one or any combination of the following fields will substitute for a maximum of one year of the experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience: counseling; social work; psychology; economics; business, public, or health administration.

A master's degree in the above fields will substitute for one year of the required experience.

A Juris Doctorate will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Graduate training with less than a Ph.D. will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

A Ph.D. in the above fields will substitute for two years of the required experience.

Specialized degrees will substitute for a maximum of two years of the required experience.

NOTE: Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.

NOTE:

An applicant may be required to possess a valid Louisiana driver's license at time of appointment.

Job Concepts

FUNCTION OF WORK:

To directly supervise professional social services staff providing child support enforcement services.

LEVEL OF WORK:

Supervisor.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Direct from Child Support Enforcement Manager 1 or other higher level personnel.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Direct over Social Services Analysts. May also supervise clerical staff involved in child support enforcement services.

LOCATION OF WORK:

Department of Children and Family Services.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:

Differs from Social Services Analyst 3 by the presence of direct line supervision.

Differs from Child Support Enforcement Manager 1 by the absence of managerial responsibility for child support enforcement programs.

Supervises Social Services Analysts in a specified unit or geographical area through training, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating work performance; responsibility may extend to multiple parishes.

Responsible for the maintenance of acceptable standards for assigned child support enforcement program(s).

Assumes lead responsibility for the conciliation procedure to resolve disputes related to an individual's participation in their assigned program; interviews complainants and investigates for resolution.

Prepares required reports relative to assigned unit activities, reviews and analyzes records for quality assurance, and compiles data and statistical information for written reports.

Orients staff in all areas of staff development functions; conducts individual and group conferences with staff to increase their skill and efficiency.

Maintains working relationships with local, state, and federal agencies both in the public and private sector.
