Amphenol Applications Engineer-Filter Product Line in Sidney, New York

The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking an Applications Engineer - Filter Product Line to work out its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.

The Applications Engineer - Filter Product Line will work with sales engineers, customers, and their end users to provide direct technical support and develop connector solutions that meet the customer's requirements. Basic responsibilities include tracking new design in opportunities, new part number creation, customer specification review, and technical customer support.

The key responsibilities of the Applications Engineer - Filter Product Line include, but are not limited to:

  • Review customer specifications and determine the optimal connector solution
  • Interpret customer specifications and have a working knowledge of the industry standards
  • Maintain data entry into the part number database and part number confirming system
  • Assist engineering and test lab during the development and implementation of qualification/testing
  • Aid engineering and process engineering in failure analysis and special projects
  • Help diagnose failures and recommend corrections with quality, engineering, and operations
  • Assist with cost estimating and pricing activities in conjunction with the product manager
  • Sign off on Filter ECN's that require marketing authorization
  • Define new product needs, applications, and technologies to maintain Amphenol as a leader in the Filter market

Salary: $61,500 - $85,000

Location -

  • Sidney, NY
    • 30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY
    • 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY
  • A hybrid work option may be available following initial training/orientation period

The Person -

The key skills and qualities of a Applications Engineer - Filter Product Line at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other technical discipline required
  • Associates with two or more years of related interconnect experience would also be considered
  • Program management, time management, interpersonal and computer skills required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • General understanding of AAO's connector products
  • Must have the ability to promote and sell complex designs, be organized, and self-motivated
  • Capable of learning and using Amphenol's operating programs
  • Travel, when necessary, up to 25% of the time
  • To be able to effectively communicate and drive results between the various operating groups at Amphenol, especially between engineering, marketing, and the sales team.
