If you are a Quality Systems Manager looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an opening for you! Based in our Sidney, Ohio location, you will work inside the corporate advanced manufacturing engineering (AME) department leading an engineering team delivering sustainable quality systems that will provide timely insights into the process health of manufacturing systems. Through creativity and a strong engineering aptitude, you will develop manufacturing hardened quality solutions and closed-loop feedback systems to provide actionable information to engineers, operators, and other pieces of equipment. The team you will lead will collaborate with other manufacturing professionals to develop these systems to control product quality and provide accurate data of product capability. You will research and monitor manufacturing industry trends and implement best-in-class solutions for our global manufacturing facilities.
As a Quality Systems Manager, you will:
Collaborate with global Copeland manufacturing facilities and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure accuracy of quality related systems, implement qualification plans, and remove resource bottlenecks.
Set and implement team goals aligned with departmental values, mission, and strategic objectives
Communicate with manufacturing engineering functions and manufacturing plants to gain an understanding of their needs and develop comprehensive solutions to quality systems issues.
Lead projects from concept and design through capital appropriation requests to qualification within project schedule and budget
Actively participate in project planning events, system design reviews, and project update meetings.
Be responsible for recruitment, retention, and development of quality systems resources through annual performance review and talent development processes.
Ensure cross training and technical leadership is provided to our manufacturing engineering staff and plant personnel
Apply lean manufacturing principles and processes to manufacturing system solutions.
Ensure all equipment and production related equipment meet all safety requirements in accordance with applicable industry standards.

Required Education, Experience & Skills:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical/ Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering. Or a combination of education and experience.
Five (5+) years’ experience in manufacturing engineering environment
Exceptional communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop collaborative relationships.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to apply creative thinking to solve complex problems.
Must be able to interpret technical drawings with a thorough understanding of GD&T
Proven computer skills including MS Words, Excel, PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse work groups to facilitate knowledge sharing
Theoretical and practical understanding of SPC and experience making data driven decisions
Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided.
Preferred Education, Experience & Sills:
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and its methodologies
Eight (8+) years’ experience in manufacturing engineering environment
Understanding of machining and assembly processes
Experience in PC-DMIS/MODUS CMM programming
Use of 2D/3D CAD programs (AutoCAD, NX, or equivalent)
Experience integrating quality system in automated closed feedback loop systems.
Experience in database analytics reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
Flexible Work Schedule – Remote Work Option and Core Hours
This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm.
