Join the pack! Wolfspeed is looking for Supervisors to join our Engineering and Maintenance team at the world’s largest silicon carbide manufacturing complex located in Siler City, North Carolina

 
Here’s the Gist: 

In this role you will provide leadership to the team that maintains and repairs equipment to minimize downtime, meet established KPI’s and uphold quality standards. You will work hand in hand with cross-functional teams to facilitate a safe and collaborative environment.

This posting is for two positions that will directly support operations at the John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide, our expansion site in Siler City, NC. The person in this role will train at our Durham, NC headquarters initially.

Day Shift Supervisors will support a 12-hour day shift manufacturing on a Front End or Back End shift pattern. 

  • Front End Days (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, every other Wednesday)
  • Back End Days (Every other Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday)

  

The Day-to-Day: 

  • Foster a safety-first mindset  
  • Support and influence 5S methodology, ensuring the workplace is clean, uncluttered, safe and well organized to reduce waste and optimize productivity 
  • Manages preventative and corrective maintenance of semiconductor fabrication equipment.
  • Leads root-cause analysis of major tool downtime, scrap, or scrap events.
  • Establish relationships across departments to drive cohesive learning and cross functional problem solving. Interfaces with the Manufacturing and Operations team on supporting daily production priorities based on bottlenecks and/or operational throughput goals.
  • Work closely with process engineering and production staff to improve overall performance metrics.
  • Ensure team members are appropriately trained to support the different tools and technologies.
  • Leads team to comply with department leading and lagging KPI’s.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements): 

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in an engineering or technical field or equivalent military or industrial experience.
  • 5-8 years of experience in manufacturing support/repair services.
  • A demonstrated background of success in a management role.
  • Strong data analysis skills required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Must be a self-starter capable of managing many priorities with minimal guidance.
  • Must have the ability to get things done and utilize company resources effectively.
