Who we’re looking for:

Wolfspeed’s Materials Business is seeking leaders who will oversee the daily operations of the Tool Shop. A supervisor is responsible for setting goals, assigning tasks, providing feedback, resolving issues, and ensuring quality and productivity. A supervisor also acts as a liaison between their team and upper management, as well as other departments or external stakeholders.

This posting is for the Back End Day shift opportunity.
You will work a compressed schedule, following our Back End Days shift (Thursday- Saturday and every other Wednesday, 7am - 7pm )

The individuals that fill these roles will directly support operations at the John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide, our expansion site in Siler City, NC. The person in this role will train at our Durham, NC headquarters initially and will move over to the new site once ready.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Plan and organize the workflow of the team or department, ensuring that tasks are completed within deadlines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Communicate the company’s vision, mission, values, and objectives to the team and ensure alignment with them
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team and individual employees, providing constructive feedback, coaching, recognition, and corrective actions as needed
  • Train and mentor new or existing employees, ensuring that they have the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to perform their roles
  • Resolve any conflicts, complaints, or problems that arise within the team or with other parties, escalating them to senior management when appropriate
  • Report on the team’s progress, achievements, challenges, and issues to senior management and other relevant stakeholders
  • Enforce the company’s policies, procedures, and standards, and ensure compliance with legal and ethical regulations
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement, innovation, and efficiency in the team’s processes, systems, and methods
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other supervisors, managers, departments, or external partners to achieve the company’s goals and objectives

This Job is Right for You if You Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a supervisor or a similar leadership role in a relevant field
  • Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and instructions
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with different levels of audiences
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of initiative, creativity, and motivation, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software or tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in management, business administration, or a related field, or a trade school diploma.
