Job Title: Program Support Specialist
Job Summary:
The Program Support Specialist will provide program support services to NOAA's Ocean Research Advisory Panel (ORAP) and other offices within NOAA as required. Working for NOAA ORAP is an exhilarating opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research and initiatives aimed at understanding and protecting our oceans, atmosphere, and precious planet.
Responsibilities Include:
Providing public meetings logistics
Identifying meeting venues and arranging hotel accommodations including retaining room blocks for meeting attendees
Identifying meeting IT, technical support, and platforms options to ensure effective virtual or hybrid meeting attendance and participation
Tracking meeting agenda development and identify logistical action items based on agenda topics
Developing and submitting Federal Register Notices (FRN) for public meetings
Coordinating Public Registration and public comments submission prior to and during public meetings
Supporting coordination of ORAP member travel arrangements and post meeting actions with the ORAP travel coordinator or administrative staff
Coordinating other ORAP activities, including meeting dinners and field trips
Providing onsite meeting support, such as monitoring virtual participation, responding to enquiries during meeting, working with IT and technical support staff to address any issues or questions
Supporting communication and coordination of ORAP meeting schedules and logistics with key stakeholders including Ocean Policy Committee staff
Developing and sending official letters and documents, such as document transmittal letters, members appointments, renew, extension, and thank you letters
Formatting ORAP Reports and other documents for 508 compliance
Maintaining and updating the ORAP website
Making sure public meeting material are posted on the website prior (draft materials) and after meeting (final/approved materials)
Reviewing and updating all ORAP website documents for 508 compliance
Creating and publishing website content
Supporting ORAP DFO and Alternate DFO on administrative tasks as needed
Required Qualifications and Skills:
The ability to obtain a public trust
Bachelor's degree in an analytic discipline or closely related field (e.g. statistics, economics, accounting, etc.)
4+ years of full-time experience in an analytic discipline (e.g. economics, business processes, statistics, operations research, imagery, or other engineering related technical fields)
Desired:
4+ years of experience specifically in meeting logistics and organization support
Work Setting and Environment:
Monday - Friday, normal working hours
Work is to be performed at NOAA facilities in Silver Spring, MD
Travel for event support
An estimated 75% onsite, 25% remote
