• The Parker Aerospace Simi Valley Fire, Safety, and Power Division site is a fully integrated location with product responsibility from Marketing and Engineering through Supplier Management, Program Management, and Manufacturing, ending with delivery to customers.
• Parker Aerospace is a worldwide leader in multiple Commercial and Military Aerospace product lines, including Fire and Smoke Detection and Extinguishing systems, Bleed Air Overheat detection systems, Actuators, Rudder Pedal Assemblies, Pumps, Fuel Gauging Systems, High-Temperature cables, and more.
• Parker Aerospace – Simi Valley, CA, is also a key supplier in selecting energy markets, including nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with the largest global aerospace companies, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Lockheed Martin, and many others.
JOB DESIGNATION
• The Accounting Supervisor leads the Financial and Accounting team generally within business unit or a site.
• Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of accounting data.
• Develops, implements, and maintains systems, policies and procedures. Generates forecasts and analyzes trends in sales, finance and other areas of business.
• Supervise, organize and direct the activities of the accounting function with significant involvement into the analysis, operation and summarization of financial efforts, posture, forecasting, profits and expenditures.
• Regular contacts with departmental staff, division controllers and accounting staff. Supervise efforts of staff accountants and administrative support staff.
JOB CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manages the accuracy in reporting and compliance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)and other accounting policies.
• Manages Finance and Accounting within a business unit and develops accounting staff to meet team targets, along with reviewing industry trends for updates.
• Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions.
• Ensures internal controls are in place and functioning, as intended.
• Forecasts and analyzes trends in sales, finance and other areas of business.
• Ensures accuracy and completeness of financial statements and ensures compliance and alignment with company policies.
• Participates as lead in external audits.
• Develops, implements, and maintains systems, policies and procedures.
• Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs.
• Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies, and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations.
Other responsibilities as assigned:
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary.
• Insure compliance with corporate objectives and systems for accounting, payables, receivables, payroll and inventory operations as applicable.
• Conduct analysis of accounting systems and procedures inclusive of problem diagnosis and corrective action recommendations.
• Prepare or assist in the preparation of financial statements, reviews, budgets, forecasts, and analysis.
• Participate, coordinate and review month-end and year end closings and governmental reports and forms submittal.
• Train, develop, assist and instruct subordinate employees according to company policy and sound employee relations.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education:(REQUIRED)- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Years Experience: min 5 years of Accounting experience
Skills :
• Thorough understanding and experience of standard accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis acquired through related work experience in increasingly complex roles.
• Strong team development and management skills to enable the creation of a highly capable Finance and Accounting team.
• Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills to evaluate financial results, projections and datamining.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explains complex information to others in straightforward situations; excellent interpersonal skills to drive task to completion.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and database management tools.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $81K-$120K plus 10% ACIP target
